7.1 歧视中国人事件

2016年3月1日,中国大陆一名女子日前搭乘维珍航空VS250航班从伦敦飞往上海,途中遭一名疑似有精神障碍的男子飙骂“中国猪”与不雅字眼[8],女子向经济舱空服员反映,经济舱的空服领班Nathan Smith却大声的呵斥她不要和人吵架,否则就要把她赶下飞机[9]。此名旅客事后向公司客诉,却只得到官式回复。该女并投书媒体,表示“身为一个中国人有生以来第一次受到的种族歧视在这里发生了”[10],此事件维珍遭到许多大陆网民的挞伐[11],并扬言抵制维珍。
